New Years Day - Mapleton Bridge Jump, Mapleton, Derbyshire.

New Years Day - Blue Boar Raft Race
The annual race of home made rafts from the Dolphin Haven along the Quay is held on the morning of the 1st January. Organized by the Blue Boar pub (01202 682247) to raise funds for the R.N.L.I. and other charities. Entry forms and the rules can be obtained from the Blue Boar. Attracts an audience of about 1000.

The event has now closed for further entries, but come along to cheer on all the competitors - they'll need the encouragement. We'll also be there to sell our book and take part.
