For the last 5 years our team at Wacky Nation have dedicated ourselves to researching & organising wacky sports and events around the UK and overseas. We are now in a very strong position to offer our Event Management services, (with our own proven event organisers) and share our unrivalled knowledge. If you want an event putting together, get in touch with us to see how we can help you. Our creative team devise some truly remarkable concepts which receive local, national and international media attention. Click here for more info.
Wacky Nation can also write articles or put together listings online or in print of events coming up, articles, ideas for television etc… With the London Olympics in 2012, now is the time to think about jumping on the sport bandwagon, no matter how far fetched the sport may be.

Sally Raynes
Events & Marketing Director
(AKA the sensible one!!)
With her sparkling personality and dynamic organisational skills, Sally is passionate about creating fun events around the UK.
Over the last 5 years Sally has taken part in over 80 crazy contests around the UK, (and quite frankly she doesn’t really rate as a top athlete), but has used the knowledge gained to create her own unbelievably entertaining events.
With 15 years event management experience, she truely knows what works and what doesn’t. She has organised 5 music festivals, 6 national charity fundraising events, exhibitions for Devon Schools, conferences and corporate events for Holiday Autos and brand launches for Curry’s & Bel UK. Through Wacky Nation Events she now offers her services as an event organiser.
Her first taste of wackiness ended in complete humiliation when she sank twice in the Mountain Bike Bog Snorkel, but she has since come agonisingly close to greatness at Snail Racing and Nettle Eating. Her Goal is to become a ‘World Champion’ at something.

2nd World Snail Racing Championships, 2006

3rd World Chariot Racing Championships, 2011

James Bamber
Strategy & Communications Director
(AKA backwards runner, cold water swimmer and general idiot)
A degree in rubbish and a lowflying career in the civil service; you would never have thought for one moment that James would become one of half of Britain’s Craziest Couple and arguably the world’s leading exponent on wacky sports.
But hitting his 30’s, the lure of something completely different got hold of him and having found his forte now competes in as many foolhardy and ridiculous sports and contests as possible. James’s aim is to do anything once, no matter how hard or silly it is, even if that means carrying a 50 kg beer barrel up a hill or jumping off a bridge into a river in the middle of winter. Though, his trepidations hitherto have not been without some injuries.
James now lives in Devon, where he spends any free time sea swimming, running backwards & training for competitive eating contests. His goal is to stay alive whilst having as much fun as is humanely possible. Bring on the next challenge!
