BRIEF

Fermoy’s garden centre were looking for a fun, family friendly activity to inject a bit of fun into their plants stand at Exeter Food Festival and to aid publicity about their company. The activity needed to fit with their theme of ‘Eat Well, Grow Well’ and couldn’t take up too much space.

SOLUTION

The UK Seed Spitting Championships and the World Championship Vegetable Bowling were devised to encourage competition in a fun format and entice people to visit the stand. Contestants who took part could win packets of seeds, cookery books or even have the opportunity to become a World Champion!

The layouts were kept really simple to blend in with the other sections of the stand and the products used were all easy to procure to showcase how these simple games could be played at home.

OUTCOME

Despite the sometimes torrential downpours, competitors got really competitive in these games and loved the idea of swapping a beetroot or turnip for a bowling ball in an attempt to knock over as many nasty bottles of fizzy drink as possible.
