GOURMET FOOD WALK

Date:     Sun 4th June 2017
Start:     Kilmington

Booking closes 21st May 2017

Food lovers and walkers will definitely be in for a treat.

Enjoy a delicious three course gourmet meal, (see menu below) spaced out over 3 stops, whilst exploring some of Devon’s most picturesque countryside.

At each stop along the route you will be entertained and partake in a delicious lunchtime course created by local chefs of the area, served with traditional local drinks, (cider, cocktails, real ale or a non alcoholic drink with a local connection).

The circular 7.5 mile route from Kilmington, (it’s leisurely and fun, not a race!) takes in breath-taking scenic views as you walk up and down footpaths, along quiet lanes over stiles, up two fairly steep hills and through unspoilt countryside.

We are sure you will enjoy this fantastic new day out – but book soon, it’s likely to be popular and we can only cater for a limited number of people.

EVENT CHARITY

Devon Freewheelers

We have chosen to support Devon Freewheelers as our chosen charity this year. They will also be providing the first aid at the event and have asked that everyone donates at least £2 into the collection at the event to cover their costs. We hope you will also choose to increase this donation or get sponsored for this worthy charity. Please do feel free to have extra fun and come in fancy dress.

About the Charity

Devon Freewheelers are a team of 37 volunteer Emergency Vehicle drivers who are dedicated to providing a weekday out of hours service (17.00 – 06.00) and 24/7 weekend service supporting the NHS in delivering essential Blood, Samples, Medication and Donor Breast Milk to hospitals throughout Devon and Dorset.

START AND FINISH TIMES

To avoid congestion, the walk starts in groups, at 15-minute intervals, between 10am and 11.15 am. When ordering tickets you may express a preference for a starting time on a first come basis.

Your e-ticket will indicate your own particular starting time, with detailed instructions for finding the starting location.

We anticipate that you will finish the walk between 4pm and 5.30pm. Walk at a leisurely pace and enjoy yourself – it isn’t a race!

SPECIAL NEEDS & DIETS

Accessibility: There are quite a few stiles, steep gradients and rough ground. The route is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

Dogs: There may be livestock in some fields, so have taken the decision not to allow dogs to participate on this walk.

Dietary Requirements: Vegetarian alternatives to the meat dish are available if requested in advance. Other than that, we regret that we are unable to cater for special dietary requirements.

Children and babies (without pushchairs) are welcome, and may bring their own food and drink if required. There is no charge to accompany the walk for children bringing food, but the food and drink is provided only for paying customers!

Special requirements: If you have any special needs or limited mobility, or questions about whether the Gourmet Walk & Eat will be suitable for you, please contact us before buying your tickets via our contact page and we will happily discuss the practicality of the arrangements for you.
